Construction

RMF’s ten construction attorneys have, collectively, hundreds of years of experience. They provide advice and representation to property owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects and suppliers in all stages of a construction project, including:

  • Contract Negotiation and Drafting including AIA and non-AIA documents;
  • Contract Administration;
  • Procurement and Bid Process; and
  • Project Financing.

Disputes are, unfortunately, common in construction projects. Dispute avoidance and resolution are important to many of our clients. We seek to take a proactive approach to disputes and potential disputes to minimize the disruption, delay and cost they can bring to a project. We provide guidance to clients during a project to avoid, resolve and minimize disputes.

Where disputes cannot be resolved during the construction process, we have successfully represented clients in state and federal court and administrative proceedings, including trials and appeals, and in mediation and arbitration before the AAA, JAMS, NAMS and other dispute resolution forums.  We have handled multi-million dollar construction disputes involving commercial property, as well as proceedings before local Consumer Affairs Departments involving home remodeling disputes.

RMF has substantial experience handling:

  • Design/Defect Issues;
  • Scope of Work, Change Order and Delay Damage Disputes;
  • Filing and Foreclosure of Mechanic’s Liens;
  • Willful Exaggeration and Trust Fund Diversion Claims
  • Bond and Surety Issues;
  • Property Damage Claims;
  • Bid Challenges
  • Insurance Coverage Disputes;
  • Construction Accidents and Injuries; and
  • Wage and Hour Claims.

We welcome the opportunity to assist you with all your construction law needs.
