Zachary N. Zayas

Associate

Zachary N. Zayas is an associate at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., where he is a member of the firm’s Trusts and Estates Department; Estate, Trust & Fiduciary Litigation Practice Group.

Prior to joining the firm, Zachary was Principal Law Clerk to Honorable Peter J. Kelly, Surrogate and Supreme Court Justice of Queens County.  As Principal Law Clerk, Zachary presided over non-jury hearings and kinship trials, prepared decisions, orders and stipulations, and conferenced thousands of cases concerning every area of Surrogate’s Court practice, most of which resulted in an amicable resolution.

Zachary’s practice focuses on estate, trust and fiduciary litigation, including all manners of Surrogate’s Court practice such as probate contests, accounting proceedings, discovery and turnover proceedings, will and trust construction proceedings, and other complex disputes involving distributees, beneficiaries and fiduciaries.

Zachary received a B.S. in Finance, cum laude, from Adelphi University, and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.  During his time at St. John’s Law, Zachary was awarded a fellowship by the New York State Bar Association’s Trust and Estates Law Section.

Zachary is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.  He is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Law Section where he serves as a committee member of the Estate Litigation Committee.  Zachary is the immediate past co-chair of the Queens County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
