Program Status: We have completed hiring for our 2027 Summer Associate Program. We expect to open the application process for the 2028 program in early 2027.

Program Overview

Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., a premier Long Island law firm, offers an eight-week Summer Associate Program beginning each June following the completion of a participant’s second year of law school. The program provides law students with the opportunity to work on substantive legal matters across the Firm’s cornerstone practice areas, including Corporate & Securities, Financial Services, Commercial Litigation, Health Care, Real Estate, Employment, and Trusts & Estates.

Summer Associates are fully integrated into case and transaction work and are considered valued members of the team. Participants gain hands-on experience that may include attending depositions, court appearances, client meetings, mediations, and conferences.

Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, analyzing complex legal issues, drafting legal documents, and assisting attorneys with a variety of substantive projects. The program emphasizes professional development through mentorship, attorney shadowing, structured training, and ongoing feedback—providing participants with meaningful exposure to the Firm’s collaborative culture and the daily practice of law.

Qualifications

Applicants for the 2028 Summer Associate Program must meet the following requirements:

Required:

  • Currently enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school, with an anticipated graduation date of 2029.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence, with a class ranking in the top 25%.
  • Strong legal research and written analysis skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-reasoned work product.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and engage professionally with colleagues and clients.

Preferred:

  • Participation in Law Review, a Journal, Moot Court, Mock Trial, or Dispute Resolution.
  • Prior legal internship or other relevant professional experience.
