Mr. Zayas’ practice focuses on estate, trust and fiduciary litigation, including all manners of Surrogate’s Court practice such as probate contests, accounting proceedings, discovery and turnover proceedings, will and trust construction proceedings, and other complex disputes involving distributees, beneficiaries and fiduciaries.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Zayas was Principal Law Clerk to Honorable Peter J. Kelly, Surrogate and Supreme Court Justice of Queens County. As Principal Law Clerk, Mr. Zayas presided over non-jury hearings and kinship trials, prepared decisions, orders and stipulations, and conferenced thousands of cases concerning every area of Surrogate’s Court practice, most of which resulted in an amicable resolution.
Mr. Zayas is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Law Section where he serves as a committee member of the Estate Litigation Committee. Mr. Zayas is the immediate past co-chair of the Queens County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
