Uniondale, NY, March 24, 2026 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that firm partner and General Counsel John A. DeMaro has been elected to serve as Co-Managing Partner. The announcement was made by current Managing Partner Adam P. Silvers, who will continue in the role until the end of 2026 as part of a planned leadership transition to Mr. DeMaro.
Mr. Silvers has served as Managing Partner since January 1, 2015 and, following the planned leadership transition, will continue in various management roles. In a firmwide announcement, Mr. Silvers stated “It has been a privilege to serve as Managing Partner during a period of meaningful growth for our firm. As our practice continues to expand, this transition allows me to focus more deeply on my corporate and securities practice while ensuring continuity in leadership and support of John’s leadership. John’s experience, judgment, and commitment to the firm make him the ideal Managing Partner to help lead Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. forward.”

Mr. DeMaro is General Counsel to the firm and is responsible for overseeing all of the firm’s legal matters, including governance and compliance issues. He is an accomplished business attorney with over 25 years of experience in intellectual property law and regularly advises corporate clients on complex transactional matters and intellectual property disputes. Mr. DeMaro chairs the firm’s Intellectual Property and Food and Beverage Practice Groups, and his intellectual property practice spans trademark, copyright, licensing, technology transfer, privacy, Internet, and unfair competition matters. He is also a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice Groups and has litigated all manner of intellectual property and commercial disputes in federal and state courts. Mr. DeMaro serves on the Board of Directors of The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network), an organization which assists individuals and families challenged by hunger, homelessness, and poverty. He served four (4) terms as a Trustee in the Village of Garden City. In addition, he received the Leadership in Law Award from the Long Island Business News in 2016 and 2024, among other honors.
Mr. Silvers is the Managing Partner of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. He is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities Department and the Veterinary Law, Food & Beverage, and Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Groups, and regularly advises private and publicly traded companies on complex corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements, joint ventures, and software licensing agreements. Mr. Silvers serves on the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association and is its General Counsel. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Fourleaf Federal Credit Union. Mr. Silvers has been inducted into Long Island Business News’ Hall of Fame and named to the Long Island Power 100 List.
