Ruskin Moscou Faltischek Awarded Accredited Provider Status from NYS Continuing Legal Education Board

Uniondale, Long Island, New York, June 23, 2004 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that the firm has attained accredited provider status from the New York State Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board. With accreditation status, the firm is no longer required to obtain approval to offer CLE credits for continuing legal education programs. Without accreditation, each individual course proposal, accompanied by support materials, must be submitted to the Board for approval sixty days prior to the scheduled program date, with no guarantee of acceptance. The firm’s accreditation status is maintained through a three-year period and renewed at the end of that term.

“We are very proud of this accomplishment; to qualify for accreditation, the firm was required to provide a continuous stream of relevant, interesting and thought-provoking CLE programs for three years,” said Co-Managing Partner Douglas A. Cooper.

Experienced attorneys (practicing two years or more) are required to attend 24 credit hours of CLE programs for each two-year reporting period in order to remain in good standing within their profession. Four credit hours must be in Ethics and Professionalism, and the other 20 hours may be in any combination of Skills, Law Practice Management, other areas of Professional Practice or the aforementioned Ethics.

“Ruskin Moscou Faltischek attorneys have presented CLE seminars on virtually every topic of legal interest, including e-discovery, HIPAA regulations, government contracting post- 9/11, intellectual property issues and sexual harassment,” said Elise Rippe, the firm’s Director of Recruiting and Professional Development.

New York State’s Continuing Legal Education program, which was implemented through the collaborative efforts of the bench and the bar, seeks to enhance the New York Bar’s proud tradition of professionalism in serving clients and the public.
