RMF Partners Mark S. Mulholland and E. Christopher Murray Presented with the New York County Lawyers’ Association’s Award for Conspicuous Service

Uniondale, New York – December 14, 2020 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., announced today that Partners, Mark S. Mulholland and E. Christopher Murray, will be presented with the New York County Lawyers Association’s Award for Conspicuous Service. The award is for their authorship of two separate chapters in the treatise Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts, fifth edition. The New York County Lawyers Association’s will be holding a Virtual Event to honor the award winners on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

Mr. Murray authored Chapter 88 entitled, “Civil Litigation Reforms.” The chapter reviewed proposed reforms to the civil procedure for New York State Supreme Court to make the process more time efficient and to reduce the expense to litigants. Suggested changes discussed include eliminating pre-answer motions to dismiss and appeals from non-final orders.

Mr. Mulholland co-authored Chapter 148 entitled, “Commercial Leasing.”  The chapter discusses strategic issues and the substantive law governing disputes involving commercial leases of real property. The work provides an in-depth examination of steps that practitioners should take to preserve and protect client rights, both landlord and tenant alike, as well as the obligations, claims, remedies and types of damage that arise in the event of leasehold violations.

Mark S. Mulholland, is a Partner of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C.’s Litigation Department and former Managing Partner of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek. Mr. Murray’s practice includes jury and non-jury trials in Federal and State court, as well as arbitration proceedings and administrative hearings. He has numerous reported Federal and State appellate level decisions involving real estate disputes, breach of contract claims, employment discrimination, Article 78 proceedings and partnership dissolutions.  Mr. Murray’s experience includes litigation and administrative hearings involving a variety of environmental issues including SEQRA compliance, violations of New York and federal law concerning the disposal of hazardous waste, challenges to the denial of wetland permits and CERCLA liability.
