RMF Attorney Ross Kartez to Represent North America During the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators’ Young Members Group ADR World Tour

Uniondale, NY – March 30, 2021 Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that the Young Members Group World Tour of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) stops in North America next week (with virtual programs on March 31 and April 1). CIArb provides education and training for arbitrators, mediators, and adjudicators involved in international disputes. CIArb’s World Tour highlights the unique importance and efficiency alternative dispute resolution (ADR) plays in allowing the world’s economy to remain operative during times of great economic uncertainty. Specific topics of this program focus on: ADR and access to justice, ADR as a means to strengthen the rule of law, and ADR as an efficient alternative to traditional litigation. This program series has already traveled to Asia, the Caribbean and Central America, South America, Africa, Europe, India, China, Scandinavia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Australia and New Zealand, and is now concluding in North America.

RMF Attorney Ross Kartez is one of a select group of international dispute resolution practitioners invited to represent North America in this first-class event. “It is an absolute honor to sit among the leading dispute resolution practitioners in the world and be part of this extremely ambitious initiative,” said Ross. He further commented, “I look forward to the program, and to representing our local community during this global event.”

Ross is a leader in the alternative dispute resolution bar, acting as an independent mediator and commercial arbitrator. He is also a successful advocate for clients, focusing primarily on complex commercial litigation matters involving breach of contract, insurance coverage issues, real estate disputes, lender recourse, securities matters, shareholder and partnership disputes, business torts, employment-related claims, and other business-related issues. In June 2021, Ross will take over as Chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section, a 2,500-member group dedicated to the study and promotion of methods of resolving complex disputes.

“We are proud of our developing leaders like Ross,” Adam Silvers, Managing Partner, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C., “Dispute Resolution is an ever-expanding practice area with plenty of new opportunities for practitioners, and with overcrowded court dockets, clients prefer resolving their disputes in alternative forums,” Silvers commented.

“CIArb has done an excellent job canvassing the globe to gather and present the perspectives of local practitioners and in-house counsel concerning international dispute resolution and growing global trends in this field,” said Tom Telesca, the Chair of RMF’s International Practice Group, which handles various matters for clients based in or operating from Europe, Israel, China, Korea, Canada, the U.S. and Latin America in a wide array of industries from fashion to biotechnology. Telesca further commented, “Ross has been particularly entrenched at the intersection of ADR and international practice, and is a reflection of how this firm encourages its lawyers to become leaders within the community. Dispute resolution and international law go hand-in-hand because parties negotiating international deals are very cautious about litigating in foreign tribunals.”
