RMF Attorney Nicole E. Osborne To Present Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. Award for Outstanding Appellate Advocacy At The Maurice A. Deane School of Law At Hofstra University

Uniondale, NY – May 20, 2024 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that Partner, Nicole E. Osborne, will present the Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. award for Outstanding Appellate Advocacy to graduating law students at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law At Hofstra University. The Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. award, established in 2000, annually recognizes students at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University for excellence in appellate advocacy. Ms. Osborne, who is presenting this award, was also a recipient of the award herself in 2016. This year’s ceremony will take place on May 20, 2024, honoring law students John Federico, Ryan Fernandez, Brian Joseph, and Nicholas Tramposch.

Ms. Osborne is a Partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., where she is a member of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice Group, Employment Practice Group, Commercial Litigation Department, Health Law Department, White Collar Crime and Investigations Practice Group, and Blockchain Technology and Digital Asset Practice Group.

Ms. Osborne’s practice focuses in the cybersecurity arena as well as federal and state litigation. She has been engaged in numerous cybersecurity engagements ranging across industries and of all sizes. Ms. Osborne’s work includes advising businesses based on their level of cyberpreparedness and conducting risk and threat assessments, incident response planning, immediate incident response and remediation, privacy impact assessments, and defending against enforcement actions, government investigations and private party civil actions.

Ms. Osborne has experience as a commercial litigator in both federal and state courts. Ms. Osborne has represented individuals and companies in a wide area of complex commercial litigation – including matters involving employer/employee disputes, trade secret misappropriation, business torts, breach of contract and shareholder disputes, professional liability (including claims related to Employment Practices Liability and Directors and Offices Insurance Policies), and Article 78 proceedings. Ms. Osborne also has experience in matters involving the employer-employee relationship. Ms. Osborne has experience handling wage and hour compliance and investigations, employment discrimination prevention, employee handbooks and trainings, administrative proceedings, disability accommodations and leave related issues. Ms. Osborne has also defended against claims in administrative and court proceedings relating to sexual harassment, age, race, and national origin discrimination, restrictive covenant violations, confidentiality violations, and trade secret theft for various clients, both large and small.

Ms. Osborne is an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law, where she teaches courses on the Fundamentals of the Law of Cybersecurity.  Ms. Osborne was named in Long Island Business News in its Ones to Watch and a New York Metropolitan Area Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
