Attorney Alexander G. Bateman Elected to Board of Directors of United Way Long Island

Uniondale, Long Island, New York, January 11, 2011 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that partner Alexander G. Bateman was elected to the Board of Directors of United Way of Long Island.

Bateman, a resident of Bayport, is a partner at the law firm Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. where he is co-chair of the firm’s Health Law Regulatory and Transactional Department. He is also co-chair of the White Collar Crime and Investigations Practice Group.

 Bateman’s work primarily involves representing health care professionals and companies in the areas of federal and state criminal and regulatory matters, such as Medicare/Medicaid fraud and professional disciplinary proceedings. He is develops and implements corporate compliance programs for hospitals and other health care providers and specializes in the defense of white-collar criminal cases, including government-funded and private insurance fraud and abuse matters.

  Prior to joining the Firm, Bateman was a trial attorney with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office where he investigated and prosecuted felony street crimes, organized crime, narcotics, sex crimes and political corruption. He serves as chair of the New York State Bar Association Health Section Committee on Physicians and Licensed Health Care Professionals and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Suffolk County Bar Association and the Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association. He is also a member of the board of advisors of Long Island Metro Business Action (LIMBA).
