Adam P. Silvers Named Co-Chair of Corporate Securities Department at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek

Uniondale, New York, June 6, 2011 – The law firm of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that partner Adam P. Silvers has been appointed co-chair of the firm’s Corporate & Securities Department. Silvers, who joined the firm in 1998, is one of Long Island’s leading corporate practitioners. He will share co-chair duties with noted corporate attorney and senior partner Irvin Brum.

“We warmly congratulate Adam on this well-deserved appointment,” said Managing Partner Mark S. Mulholland. “Under Irv and Adam’s steady, skilled leadership, we look forward to the department’s continued dynamic growth.”

Silvers demonstrated his business leadership early on. As a young associate, he took on legal matters of an increasingly complex nature and, partly as a result of his prior position as in-house counsel for a high tech corporation, took on the task of spearheading the firm’s Technology Practice Group. He was named a partner of the law firm in 2003 – one of the youngest associates at the firm to be so named.

A resident of Commack, Silvers has a long record of accomplishments as a sophisticated corporate and securities attorney. He regularly counsels both private and publicly traded companies on a wide variety of legal issues.  Over his career, Silvers has successfully handled complex transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, joint venture and partnership agreements, as well as software licensing and development, among other areas.

Silvers has been a featured lecturer at a number of Continuing Legal Education programs on topics ranging from partnerships and limited liability companies, executive compensation and securities matters to intellectual property and software licensing issues. He authored “The Not-So-Quiet Period: How Statements During the Registration Period Can Halt an Initial Public Offering” and also served as editor of a business and technology publication that was distributed to lawyers and accountants throughout the world.

As part of his commitment to the advancement of technology, Adam is the firm liaison for LISTnet and a member of the organization’s planning committee for its quarterly Business Excellence Strategies and Trends (BEST) event, which features panel discussions on topics of vital interest to those who work in, and are affected by, the technology sector on Long Island. In addition, Silvers has been actively involved with Child Abuse Prevention Services, a Roslyn-based not-for-profit organization which seeks to direct its efforts on behalf of Long Island’s at-risk children.

“Adam’s longstanding contributions to the Corporate & Securities Department make this appointment a natural next step,” noted Brum. “With our department already one of Long Island’s largest, our collaboration will be aimed at developing relationships with even more public and private companies, particularly as organizations expand their need for sophisticated corporate representation.”
