Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. Announces Formation of Crisis Management Practice Group

Uniondale, NY – March 3, 2025 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. is pleased to announce the formation of its Crisis Management Practice Group. The group is Chaired by RMF Partner David Durso and Of Counsel Andrew Garbarino.

The Crisis Management Practice Group assists clients in developing strategies to handle events that may impact their business, with a focus on maintaining ongoing viability. Criminal, regulatory, and civil proceedings often stem from a single event, requiring a multifaceted approach that considers both legal and non-legal repercussions. Our interdisciplinary team coordinates with professionals in public relations, crisis communications, accounting and security to protect clients’ legal interests while preserving legal privilege where possible. Comprised of former prosecutors, federal agents, and veteran attorneys, RMF’s Crisis Management team handles complex litigation at local, state, federal, and international levels. The group collaborates with other RMF practice areas as needed, providing a comprehensive legal strategy.

Mr. Durso is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities and Health Law Departments, as well as the firm’s White Collar Crime and Investigations, and Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice groups. Mr. Durso regularly counsels business owners, public and privately held companies and health care professionals in a wide variety of business and corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, government investigations, prosecutions and administrative proceedings. Mr. Durso serves on the Board of Directors for Contractors for Kids, a Long Island charity that provides financial assistance to families facing a financial hardship due to the injury, illness or death of a child.  Before joining Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C., he was an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx. Mr. Durso has been recognized as a New York Metro Super Lawyer, Rising Star (2021-2024).

Mr. Garbarino is co-chair of the White Collar Crime and Investigations practice at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C. and a member of the firm’s Health Law, Not-For-Profit, Blockchain, Securities, and Cybersecurity practice groups. He represents corporations, hospitals, law firms, CEOs, CFOs, lawyers, bankers, law enforcement, and healthcare professionals facing allegations of criminal or professional misconduct and has extensive experience with regulatory bodies including the SEC, FINRA, OPMC, OPD, OMIG, and state Attorney Grievance Committees. Mr. Garbarino has led internal investigations for municipalities, hospitals, and businesses, and managed cybersecurity breaches and data privacy incidents.
