Harold S. Berzow, Of Counsel, is a member of the Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Group, where he focuses on debtor and creditor rights, business reorganizations, bankruptcy and commercial transactions. Many of his clients are in the food and supermarket industry (retail, wholesale, and distribution) as well as the electrical and construction fields. A resident of Boca Raton, FL, Berzow is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School, and serves on the editorial advisory board of Bankruptcy Law & Litigation Report.

Michael D. Brown, Partner, is the chair of the Firm’s insurance litigation practice where he focuses on litigation, corporate and insurance defense, coverage and regulatory areas.  Brown is also a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department and Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice group. A frequent lecturer, he has spoken on a variety of topics including litigation management techniques, insurance coverage issues, the defense of a variety of professional liability and Directors & Officers claims and more. Brown has been recognized as a New York Metropolitan area Super Lawyer, is published in “Who’s Who in America” and was one of nine professionals in various professions to receive the 2017-2018 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.  Brown received his law degree from New York University School of Law and is a resident of North Hills, NY.

John G. Farinacci, Partner, is co-chair of the trusts and estates department and heads that department’s litigation group.  He handles contested cases in the trial courts, NYS Supreme Court Appellate Division and has successfully argued a case in the NYS Court of Appeals. Although he focuses on litigation, Mr. Farinacci also represents beneficiaries, heirs, executors, trustees and corporate fiduciaries, in all aspects of trusts and estates law, including in matter involving estate planning, probate, estate and trust administration and guardianships. Mr. Farinacci is a resident of Massapequa.

Michael K. Feigenbaum, Partner, is co-chair of the Estate Litigation Department. With over 40 years’ private and public sector experience, he is a leading regional authority in trust and estate planning, administration and litigation, as well as tax and insurance planning, and probate and Surrogate’s Court proceedings. He has served on the executive committee of the Trust and Estates Law Section of the New York Bar Association. Feigenbaum received his law degree from New York University and is a resident of Long Beach.

Douglas J. Good, Of Counsel, is Chairman Emeritus and a member of the Commercial Litigation Department, and a member of the firm’s Employment Law and ADR Departments. He has extensive experience representing clients in the trial and appellate levels, and is a Certified Mediator in the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of Nassau County. He serves on the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Standards of Attorney Conduct. A resident of Glen Head, Good received his law degree from New York University.

Jennifer F. Hillman, Partner, is a member of the Estate Litigation Department. Her practice includes proceedings of Surrogate’s Court, including accounting, probate and discovery proceedings, as well as trial and appellate matters related to trusts and estates. She is chair-elect of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association, and a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).  Hillman is a former co-chair of the Surrogate’s Court Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association, and serves on the board of directors of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Foundation.  She is a frequent author and lecturer on trust and estate matters.  Hillman is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law, and a resident of Garden City.

Ellen F. Kessler, Partner, is a member of the Health Law Department. She assists healthcare clients in structuring business relationships and transactions to comply with federal and state laws including self-referral, anti-kickback and professional misconduct statutes. She regularly counsels health care clients on mergers, acquisitions and establishment of professional practices, employment and professional service relationships, establishment of management service organizations and their relationships with health care providers, establishment and transfers of Article 28 and Article 36 facilities, HIPAA compliance, and regulatory and professional licensure issues under state and federal law. A resident from Woodmere, and a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law.

Mark S. Mulholland, Partner, is a senior member of the Commercial Litigation Department and former managing partner of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek.  Litigating in state and federal courts, Mark represents large businesses, entrepreneurs, municipalities and individuals in complex business disputes, including constitutional challenges, intellectual property, business torts, securities, condemnation, and antitrust matters. A resident of Bayport, Mark is a former captain in the U.S. Army JAGS Corps, graduated from the University of Notre Dame and holds a law degree from State University of New York at Buffalo.

E. Christopher Murray, Partner, is a member of the Commercial Litigation Department and chair of the Environmental and Land Use Department. With more than 30 years’ experience in commercial litigation, municipal affairs and environmental law, he represents clients in federal and state litigation, arbitration and administrative hearings. His practice includes jury and non-jury federal and state trials. Murray is a resident of Stony Brook and honors graduate of Georgetown University School of Law.

Douglas M. Nadjari, Partner, is a member of the Health Law, White-Collar Crime and Commercial Litigation Departments. He has over 35 years’ experience as a trial lawyer concentrating in criminal defense, regulatory enforcement and commercial litigation. He regularly represents physicians and other health professionals in criminal matters, in civil litigation, before myriad government agencies, in medical staff proceedings, audits  and commercial disputes. He holds a law degree from Tulane University School of Law and is a resident of Sea Cliff.

Eric C. Rubenstein, Of Counsel, Chairman Emeritus of the Real Estate Department, where he represents major commercial lenders, as well as real estate developers, owners and operators in some of the region’s largest and complex financial transactions.  Projects include financing, leasing, acquisition or sale of shopping centers, hotels and resorts, office buildings, retail sites, nursing homes, co-operatives and condominiums.

Michael A.H. Schoenberg, Of Counsel, is a member of the Commercial Litigation Department, where he represents individuals and corporations before arbitration and mediation boards as well as in the federal and state courts on shareholder disputes, business dissolutions, torts, real estate disputes and employment discrimination. Schoenberg is a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, and is a resident of Bellmore.

Benjamin Weinstock, Partner and Chairman Emeritus of the Real Estate Department. His scope of work is vast and includes sales and purchases, commercial leasing, sale-leasebacks, Section 1031 tax deferred exchanges, title insurance claims, construction lending, development agreements, purchase options, senior citizen housing, zoning variances, site plan and subdivision approvals, title insurance claims, architect’s and construction agreements, mortgage restructurings and transfer tax audits.  Weinstock, is the Mayor of the Village of Cedarhurst and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Hofstra Law School.  He is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School.

Rising Star Biography

Neil P. Diskin, Associate, is amember of the Commercial Litigation Department, Insurance Law Group, White Collar Crime & Investigations Department and Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice Group. Neil is called upon to handle all manner of cases spanning the gamut, including business disputes and breaches of contract, litigation arising out of real estate transactions, employment matters, insurance coverage, and regulatory violations. Neil holds his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and is a resident of Merrick.

Sheryl P. Giugliano, Partner, is a member in the Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Group. Her experience includes restructuring, bankruptcy, and litigation. Sheryl works with companies facing solvency issues to identify a solution and implement a strategic response, which includes negotiating with interested parties, creditors, and shareholders, and may also include filing for bankruptcy protection, or facilitating a sale, an assignment, or an out-of-court dissolution. A resident of East Williston, Sheryl holds her Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Michigan, and Master of Laws and Juris Doctor degree in Bankruptcy from St. John’s University School of Law.

Ross J. Kartez, Associate, is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department. His practice focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation in matters involving breach of contract claims, insurance coverage issues, real estate disputes, lender recourse, securities matters, shareholder and partnership claims, business torts, employment disputes, alternative dispute resolution and other business-related issues. A large portion of Ross’ practice involves claims related to professional liability, defending and prosecuting claims against various industry professionals, including professionals in the legal, securities, insurance and real estate industries. Ross regularly advises insurers, insureds, policyholders, and other parties related to claims and defenses in complex insurance coverage and other insurance-related matters. In addition to representing parties in various matters, Ross works as a private mediator and arbitrator, assisting parties resolve their disputes. Ross is a resident of Rockville Centre and holds a law degree from St. John’s University School of Law.

Matthew J. Zangwill, Partner, is a member of the Real Estate Department where he represents landlords and tenants in the leasing of commercial, retail, office and industrial space, as well as other commercial transactions including complex real estate financing, acquisition, and title matters, tax-deferred exchanges, net zero bond leases, and construction lending. A Roslyn Heights resident, Zangwill holds a law degree from Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center of Touro College.
