Ruskin Moscou Faltischek’s Ross Kartez Vice-Chair, New York State Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section

Uniondale, New York – January 9, 2019 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C. is pleased to announce that Associate Ross Kartez, a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, has been named the vice-chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section.

The New York State Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section was developed to recognize the critical and growing importance of negotiation, collaboration, mediation, and arbitration.  Ross Kartez will help lead the Section to improve these processes and work to develop programs for advocates and neutrals to gain a better understanding of alternatives to litigation.

An active member of the NYS Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section, Kartez is also the founder of the noted Judith Kaye Arbitration Competition, a moot arbitration competition Kartez founded while attending St. John’s University School of Law.  Named after deceased Chief Judge Judith Kaye (New York Court of Appeals), Chief Judge Kaye became involved to help lead the highly successful effort, which today, draws  participation from almost every law school in the New York Metropolitan area.

“Virtually every New York area law school vies for the championship of the Judith Kaye Arbitration Competition founded by Ross,” said Adam Silvers, Managing Director, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek.  “Ross is the pulse behind the highly valuable initiative and the reason it has grown to what it has become today.  Ross’s hard work in planning and presenting this important program has earned him extraordinary recognition by all those involved in the New York ADR (alternate dispute resolution) community.  He is a credit to Ruskin Moscou Faltischek and has earned the respect and admiration of countless practitioners much more senior that he.”

Ross Kartez was also recently named to Long Island Business News’s 2019 “40 Under 40” list of honorees, as an outstanding member of the Long Island business community.  “40 Under 40” cited Kartez as a future leader on Long Island, who has begun to distinguish himself in his profession, with a proven track record of career success.
