Ruskin Moscou Faltischek Welcomes Back Andrew Garbarino as Counsel to the Firm’s Health Law Regulatory and White-Collar Crime & Investigations Practice Groups

Uniondale, New York, May 29, 2013 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., announced today that Andrew Garbarino has rejoined the firm as Of Counsel to the Health Law Regulatory and White-Collar Crime & Investigations Practice Groups.

Mr. Garbarino was previously with Ruskin Moscou Faltischek’s Health Law Department from 2002 – 2005 where he handled a variety of legal matters for healthcare institutions and individual professionals.

Prior to returning to Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, he worked in both the private and public sector, first at a small healthcare law firm and then served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor, he was a member of the District Court and Public Corruption Bureaus and prosecuted a wide array of cases, ranging from “street crimes” to sex crimes to complex white collar larcenies, forgeries and mortgage frauds.  While in the District Court Bureau, Mr. Garbarino was for a time responsible for prosecuting every misdemeanor case arising in the City of Glen Cove.  In the Public Corruption Bureau, he handled a variety of high profile investigations and trials, several of which attracted national media attention.  In the last year prior to his return, Mr. Garbarino was in solo practice and handled criminal defense and litigation cases.

The focus of Mr. Garbarino’s work primarily involves the representation of individuals and corporations in criminal and administrative actions.  He possesses significant experience representing clients in state courts and state and federal administrative oversight bodies, including the NYS Office of Professional Medical Conduct, (OPMC), the NYS Office of Professional Discipline, (OPD), and various financial industry regulatory authorities including the Securities Exchange Commission, (SEC) and National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) arbitration panels. Mr. Garbarino has also counseled attorneys faced with inquiries from the Attorney Disciplinary/Grievance Committee.

Mr. Garbarino is a regular contributor to Ruskin Moscou Faltischek’s Health Law publications and co-authored “Criminalizing Consulting: Does the USA PATRIOT Act Go Too Far?” as published in the Nassau Lawyer.  A resident of Great Neck, N.Y., Andrew Garbarino is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association.
