“The Influence of Religion in the Political Arena” to be held at Molloy College on September 19, 2004

Uniondale, Long Island, New York, September 1, 2004 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that Arthur “Jerry” Kremer will participate in a panel discussion on “The Influence of Religion in the Political Arena” sponsored by the Molloy College Center for Christian and Jewish Studies. The seminar is to be held at Molloy College on Sunday, September 19, 2004 at 4 p.m. The panel will examine the ways in which our political convictions are influenced by faith and ultimately find expression in the voting booth.

Kremer, a firm partner and chair of the Municipal & Regulatory Affairs Department and a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities Department and Energy Group, is a 23-year veteran of the New York State Assembly, and the only Long Island legislator to head the prestigious Ways and Means Committee. During his tenure in Albany, Mr. Kremer also served as Chair of the Committee on Corporations where he was involved with corporate structure and energy issues.

The panel features a distinguished roster of speakers, including Kevin MacCormack, Faculty, Religious and Theological Studies Department at Molloy College.

“The religious beliefs of the voting population can strongly affect a voter’s choices on election day,” said Kremer. “I am pleased to be able bring my experience within the political arena, as both a former New York State Assemblyman and a current political analyst, to this important discussion.”

The goal of Molloy College’s Center for Christian and Jewish Studies has been to promote interfaith dialogue, develop a better appreciation of unique customs and beliefs as well as concerns, and to celebrate the religious diversity of our community.
