Uniondale, Long Island, New York, January 12, 2015 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announces the creation of the firm’s new Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice Group, bringing together eight of its attorneys with experience in cyber and privacy law. These highly skilled attorneys also have diverse concentrations in areas of law such as corporate, health, financial services, intellectual property, litigation, and white-collar crime and investigations.
The firm’s partners have tapped counsel, John J. Cooney, Esq., to chair this practice group. Mr. Cooney is a resident of Northport, N.Y. and joined the firm in 2008. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Cooney was trained as a software engineer at Columbia University and had over a decade of experience analyzing and developing technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Cooney has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of sophisticated criminal and civil cases involving federal and state authorities, including matters involving compliance issues, breach investigations, responses and regulatory defense.
