Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. Announces Expansion to Hudson Valley Region

Firm’s new regional presence will provide sophisticated legal resources to one of the fastest growing regions in New York State

Uniondale, Long Island, New York, September 9, 2004 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that it has completed plans to expand its active service delivery area to include the counties of Dutchess, Orange, Columbia, Ulster, Putnam, Rockland and Sullivan Counties in the Hudson Valley region of New York. Anticipated growth in the region will create the need for the high-caliber of legal services and business acumen the firm has become known for over the past thirty-five years. The Hudson Valley region, comparable to Nassau and Suffolk in size, has been characterized by many as having a growth potential similar to that of Nassau and Suffolk counties in 1965.

The Hudson Valley offers opportunities for development in manufacturing, high technology, healthcare, entertainment and the business-service sectors. The region is expected to benefit from the recent agreement entered into with Sematech, a consortium of semi-conductor and chip manufacturers that has agreed to develop facilities similar to those it developed in Austin, Texas in 1988. The effect of Sematech on that region’s growth over the last fifteen years has been significant. Similarly, New York State’s recent decision to allow the development of casinos in Sullivan County will increase demand for services that a firm like Ruskin Moscou Faltischek is capable of providing.

“We view this step as a tremendous opportunity to provide high-quality legal services to the Hudson Valley,” said Co-Managing Partner Michael L. Faltischek. “With the Hudson Valley’s strong and growing business base and the increased development of housing to accommodate its expanding workforce, we anticipate a sharp rise in the need for more sophisticated legal services of the high caliber we currently provide to our clients here on Long Island.”

In order to achieve its goals in this region, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek has completed an agreement with a well-established law firm in the region: Bonacic, LoBiondo & Krahulik, LLP. The firm is comprised of experienced attorneys with deep community roots; it includes New York State Senator John Bonacic, of Counsel, who represents large portions of this region. Ruskin Moscou Faltischek is pleased that so prominent a firm shares its vision for the region and recognizes the benefits afforded by the depth of experience Ruskin Moscou Faltischek can provide. The firms’ combined resources will provide over 70 attorneys in six separate offices.

Both firms expect the growth trend in the Hudson Valley to continue over the next 20 years and beyond. “As a law firm with offices in Middletown, Warwick and Fishkill, we have seen, first-hand, the maturation of the region over the last several years,” said Bonacic LoBiondo & Krahulik partner Scott Bonacic. “We believe this strategic approach to growth will serve both firms – and our clients – very well in the coming years, and we are delighted to be aligned with Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, whose reputation as a prestigious and respected law firm is well-known.”

Bonacic, LoBiondo & Krahulik, LLP is a seven-person, full service law firm with concentrations in banking, general business & corporate law, real estate, personal injury, criminal defense, matrimonial, estate and wealth strategies planning, business succession planning, probate and trust administration, elder law, land use and zoning, litigation, creditor’s rights, construction law and municipal law.
