Uniondale, NY – March 14, 2022 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. is pleased to announce that Founding Partner, Michael L. Faltischek, has been recognized as part of the Long Island Business News Power 25 in Law. The LIBN editorial team has chosen those whose influence has greatly impacted the Long Island Community in a profound way. The Power 25 Law section will appear in the March 25 edition of LIBN both in print and online and will feature profiles of the top leaders in Long Island’s robust legal community.

As a Founding Partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C. and its Managing Partner for 25 years, Michael was instrumental in the success and growth of the firm as a major regional provider of legal services. Michael counsels middle market businesses in the region on all aspects of their business activities. He serves on the Advisory Board of several companies.

Michael served as a Trustee of the Long Island Power Authority from 1996-2002. During his tenure, he actively participated in the acquisition of the Long Island Lighting Company, which transformed the energy industry on Long Island. He was instrumental in the development of the Caithness Energy Center, the first baseload power plant built on Long Island in over 50 years.  He continues to advise energy companies in development of projects on Long Island and currently serves on a Special Energy Committee of the Long Island Association evaluating the future of LIPA.

Michael has actively advocated for the development of numerous multi-family and mixed use transit-oriented development projects on Long Island, including those developed by AvalonBay Communities. His advocacy for AvalonBay in Rockville Centre in the early 2000’s led to the general acceptance of transit-oriented development in the region. He continues to counsel companies on development projects in the region.

He has served on many regional Boards in various leadership roles. Since 2001, Michael has served on the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association, the region’s largest business and civic group, where he currently serves as Treasurer and a member of its Executive Committee. He has most recently been a Director of the Sunrise Association, which provides, at no charge, summer day camp and year-round programs for children with cancer and their siblings and has served on many other charitable Boards.

Michael is a founding member and past-Chair of the Long Island Angel Network, formed to provide a forum for inventors, entrepreneurs and investors to participate in investment opportunities for new technologies, products or business ventures.  He is an active member of the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center at Stony Brook University, where he serves as Vice-Chair and General Counsel.

Michael has frequently been recognized as one of the leading members of both the legal profession and the business community.  Long Island Business News has acknowledged his leadership in its annual Who’s Who in Law, its Leadership in Law Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 LIBN CEO Awards dinner and by inducting him into the Long Island Business News’ “Hall of Fame.” He was recognized as a King of Long Island by the Star Network, received Innovate Long Island’s “Master of Innovation” Award and was recognized by Long Island Press as One of Long Island’s “100 Most Influential People” in its annual Power List.
