RMF Attorney Sheryl P. Giugliano Presents at AIRA’S Annual Pre-Conference Financial Advisors’ Toolbox

Uniondale, NY – June 18, 2021 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., announced today that Partner Sheryl P. Giugliano was a panelist at the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA) Annual Pre-Conference Financial Advisors’ Toolbox on Thursday, June 10, 2021. During the hour-long session, Sheryl, along with panelists, Kathleen Aiello, Partner, Klestadt Winters Jureller Southard & Stevens, LLP, Patrick Diercks, CIRA, Consultant, Clear Thinking Group and David E. Sklar, Associate, Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. provided an overview of the role and mechanics of liquidating trusts in Chapter 11 cases.  The attendees learned how to form and structure a liquidating trust to maximize value for creditors and obtain favorable tax treatment.  The program also provided critical insights into the powers, duties, potential liabilities, and protections of which trust professionals should be aware before commencing a liquidating trust engagement.

Ms. Giugliano is a Partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., in its Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Group. Her clients include middle-market companies facing operational or litigation issues, guiding them through the Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 process to a successful reorganization or liquidation. Ms. Giugliano also represents trustees and receivers in the analysis and recovery of assets and prosecution of litigation claims, as well as secured and unsecured creditors with enforcing their rights to extend financing or consent to the use of cash collateral. Ms. Giugliano has represented contract counterparties negotiating for the highest possible cure payment or claim, defendants in preference and fraudulent conveyance actions, both in bankruptcy litigation and negotiating settlements to avoid protracted litigation, and purchasers in bankruptcy auctions.

Ms. Giugliano was selected as a New York Metro “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers for 2015-2020. Ms. Giugliano is the Executive VP of Programming and a former President of the TMA-LI Chapter. Ms. Giugliano received the TMA-LI Chapter 2016 “Spirit Award” for Outstanding Service. She earned her LL.M. degree in Bankruptcy from St. John’s University School of Law, and has utilized her extensive experience in bankruptcy to expand her practice as a business-oriented lawyer.
