RMF Attorney Sheryl P. Giugliano Moderates Panel At The Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors 19th Annual Advanced Restructuring and Plan of Reorganization Conference

Uniondale, NY – November 17, 2020 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., announced today that Partner, Sheryl P. Giugliano moderated a panel titled “Judicial Operations During COVID-19 (Who can be in the room where it happens?)” on November 16, 2020, at the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA’) 19th Annual Advanced Restructuring and Plan of Reorganization Conference (“POR”). The panel members included, Marjorie E. Kaufman, from Getzler Henrich & Associates, LLC, Marti P. Murray, from The Brattle Group, Douglas E. Spelfogel, from Foley & Lardner LLP and the Hon. Alan S. Trust, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District New York. The panel’s discussion, which was an overview of the legal foundation for virtual operations, included the topics maintaining the public record; conducting virtual depositions, hearings, and trials and the ethical issues and pitfalls that can arise in those settings; handling evidence and practical pointers.

Ms. Giugliano is a Partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., in its Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Group. Her clients include middle-market companies facing operational or litigation issues, guiding them through the Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 process to a successful reorganization or liquidation. Ms. Giugliano also represents trustees and receivers in the analysis and recovery of assets and prosecution of litigation claims, as well as secured and unsecured creditors with enforcing their rights to extend financing or consent to the use of cash collateral. Ms. Giugliano has represented contract counterparties negotiating for the highest possible cure payment or claim, defendants in preference and fraudulent conveyance actions, both in bankruptcy litigation and negotiating settlements to avoid protracted litigation, and purchasers in bankruptcy auctions.

Ms. Giugliano was selected as a New York Metro “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers for 2015-2020 and received the Turnaround Management Association Long Island Chapter 2016 “Spirit Award” for Outstanding Service. She earned her LL.M. degree in Bankruptcy from St. John’s University School of Law, and has utilized her extensive experience in bankruptcy to expand her practice as a business-oriented lawyer. Ms. Giugliano’s litigation experience includes representing parties in bankruptcy litigation and general commercial matters. She has represented parties engaged in contract disputes in state and federal court, arbitrations before American Arbitration Association and JAMS, and mediations.
