Malerba, Chair of the Employment Law Practice Group and member of the firm’s Litigation Department, was featured in LIBN’s 2015 Who’s Who in Women in Professional Services.

Ms. Malerba handles virtually all matters involving the employer-employee relationship.  Ms. Malerba’s areas of concentration include wage and hour compliance and investigations, employment discrimination and workplace harassment prevention, policy development and litigation, and independent contractor analysis.  Ms. Malerba regularly defends against claims such as sexual harassment, age, race, national origin, disability and other forms of discrimination at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, State Division of Human Rights, New York City Commission on Human Rights and other agencies.

In her counseling practice, Ms. Malerba routinely advises employers on best practices concerning hiring and separations from employment, performance management, reductions in force, restrictive covenants, disability accommodations and leave related issues.  Ms. Malerba also regularly addresses matters involving employers’ rights and obligations with regard to employees’ use of social media.

Ms. Malerba is frequently quoted in Newsday and Long Island Business News and is a regular featured speaker at various programs on a variety of employment law topics.  Ms. Malerba is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association.
