Uniondale, NY – July 16, 2025 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. is pleased to announce that Partner Nicole E. Osborne has been appointed Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Cyber Law Committee.
The Cyber Law Committee educates Association members on mandatory “technology proficiency” and key cybersecurity issues that impact the legal profession. The Committee also provides a platform for attorneys practicing in this area to collaborate and share insights, resources, and real-world experiences in the rapidly evolving field of cyber law. In her new role, Ms. Osborne will help lead the Committee’s efforts to raise awareness around ethical obligations related to technology, promote best practices, and foster community among legal professionals working at the intersection of law and technology.

Ms. Osborne is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Health Law Departments, as well as the Employment, Cybersecurity and Data Privacy, White Collar Crime and Investigations, Blockchain Technology and Digital Asset, and Crisis Management Practice Groups.
Ms. Osborne has addressed numerous cybersecurity matters, navigating the complex intersection of law and technology. Ms. Osborne assists companies in managing and responding to data privacy and security incidents and breaches of all sizes, across various industries. These incidents include business email compromise, ransomware, as well as other network intrusions. During breach management, she works closely with a client’s internal/external IT team and third parties such as forensic investigators, public relations consultants, and cybersecurity insurance companies. Ms. Osborne manages all parts of an incident, including identification and investigation of an incident, through reporting of an incident in accordance with state, federal, and international law, as well as industry specific guidelines and regulations. Ms. Osborne likewise assists in defending enforcement proceedings, government investigations and private party civil actions following a cybersecurity incident. In addition to her data breach incident response work, Ms. Osborne advises businesses based on their level of cyberpreparedness and conducts risk and threat assessments, incident response planning and privacy impact assessments. Ms. Osborne also assists companies in complying with the growing web of state, federal, and international data privacy laws and regulations.
Ms. Osborne was named in Long Island Business News in its Ones to Watch in 2019, New York Metropolitan Area Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, and is also included in the 2025 edition of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch™ in America.
Ms. Osborne is an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law, where she teaches courses on the Fundamentals of the Law of Cybersecurity.
