RMF Expands Cannabis and Criminal Practice with the Addition of Elizabeth S. Kase

Uniondale, Long Island, N.Y. October 28, 2021– Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., announced today that Elizabeth S. Kase has joined the firm as Of Counsel. In recognition of the firm’s growing cannabis practice, Ms. Kase will be the co-chair of the firm’s Cannabis Law Practice Group, and a member of the firm’s White Collar Crime and Investigations Practice Group and Health Law Department. Ms. Kase’s practice focuses on providing counsel to businesses and individuals seeking to enter New York’s developing cannabis marketplace.  Ms. Kase has specialized in criminal law and cannabis law and routinely handled complex state and federal matters including public corruption cases, conspiracies, mortgage fraud, health fraud, immigration fraud, embezzlement schemes, sex crimes, and narcotics cases, as well as complex DWIs.

Since the inception of New York’s Compassionate Care Act in 2014, Ms. Kase has provided counsel to entrepreneurs, corporations, hospitals, physician groups, patients, and nursing homes about the legalities and conflicts of laws pertaining to medical and adult-use cannabis, compliance, business organization, and regulations in New York and Massachusetts and federal law. Ms. Kase lectures extensively on the status of the laws, legal ethics, and compliance in the cannabis field. She has published numerous articles on new developments dealing with criminal, cannabis, and cannabis/derivative products. Ms. Kase is widely recognized for her cannabis knowledge and was named a “Trailblazer in Cannabis Law” in the National Law Journal.

Ms. Kase began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County where she prosecuted hundreds of cases pertaining to narcotics, street crime, domestic violence, white-collar crime and sex crimes.

She proudly serves as Village Justice of Baxter Estates in Port Washington, New York since 2011.
