RMF Attorney Elizabeth S. SY Presents at “Women of Color in Practice: Challenges and Strategies for Success” at Touro Law

Uniondale, NY – April 5, 2021 –Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., announced today that Associate, Elizabeth S. Sy was a panelist for an event titled “Women of Color in Practice: Challenges and Strategies for Success” on March 22, 2021, hosted by Touro Law’s Office of Diversity & Inclusion and the Office of Career and Professional Development.

The panel members included, Adrienne Hawkins, Esq., JP Morgan Chase, Cybèle Louis, Esq., Mangan Ginsberg and Jamie L. Ruiz, Esq., M.B.A., Foundation Source and discussed women of color in practice and the challenges they face in the profession and their strategies for success.

Ms. Sy is a member of the Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C.’s Litigation Department. Her practice focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation, including matters involving franchisor/franchisee disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, unfair business practices, trademark and copyright infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, real estate disputes, breach of contract, and Article 78 proceedings against municipalities and corporations.

A portion of Ms. Sy’s practice also involves insurance-related matters, with an emphasis on defending professional liability claims against attorneys. Ms. Sy advises insurers, insureds, policyholders and other parties with regard to insurance coverage claims and defenses. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Legal Intern at the Law Center’s Advanced Bankruptcy clinic, where she guided individuals from the petition to the hearing stages of Chapter 7 and 13 proceedings.

Ms. Sy serves on the Young Professionals Committee and as a mentor for Hope For Youth, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to facilitating positive changes in the lives of children. She is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association.
