Partner Benjamin Weinstock Co-Authors Book Chapter for New York State Bar Association Publication on Commercial Leasing

Weinstock Tapped for Knowledge, Expertise in Real Estate Law

Uniondale, Long Island, New York, August 25, 2004 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that partner Benjamin Weinstock, co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Department, recently co-authored a chapter in “Commercial Leasing,” a major publication of the New York State Bar Association. The chapter, entitled ‘Lease Guaranties,’ was co-authored by Alan D. Eidler, Esq., President and CEO of Spiegel Associates.

Considered the definitive authority on all forms of commercial leasing for attorneys, the book encompasses both the landlord and tenant perspectives on commercial real estate leasing issues. The two-volume 1,344-page book is written and edited by leading experts in the field. It covers practical aspects of commercial leases, from the basics to the most complicated issues, and includes checklists and model leases. The 100-page chapter on ‘Lease Guaranties’ within ‘Part II-Variations and Selected Issues,’ provides in-depth understanding of the details, consequences and operations of guaranties, a critically important real estate topic; guaranties, if not structured correctly, can result in costly mistakes on either the landlord or tenant side of a commercial lease transaction.

“The scope of research and the amount of writing required to produce the ‘Lease Guaranties’ chapter was remarkable,” said Weinstock. “I am honored to have been asked to co-author a chapter in such a well-respected, prestigious publication.” Weinstock is a partner and co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Department; he has personally handled nearly every type of real estate transaction imaginable. Governor Pataki appointed Weinstock to the New York State Real Estate Board, where he serves as Secretary. Weinstock is one of 13 real estate experts from across the state to serve on the Board. In addition, he is a member of the legal advisory boards of Chicago Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company of New York and is a board member of C.W. Post’s Real Estate Practitioner’s Institute. Weinstock is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
