Christopher Murray Appointed to Board of Trustees of Suffolk County Community College

Uniondale, New York – November 3, 2016 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C. announced today that Partner E. Christopher Murray was appointed by the Suffolk County Legislature to the Board of Trustees of the Suffolk County Community College.

A member of the firm’s Litigation Department, Murray is the chair of the firm’s Environmental and Land Use Practice Group and co-chair of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek’s newly formed Not-for-Profit Department, established to handle the growing legal needs of the not-for-profit community.

Christopher Murray has over twenty-five years of experience in all aspects of complex commercial, environmental, insurance, employment, civil rights and trademark litigation. His practice includes jury and non-jury trials in federal and state court, as well as arbitration proceedings and administrative hearings.

Christopher Murray.

Mr. Murray currently serves as President of the Nassau County Mental Health Association and is a past President of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, the umbrella organization for over forty local chambers of commerce in Nassau County, representing more than 6,000 small businesses. He also serves on the Board of a number of charities and not-for-profit organizations including the Literacy Nassau and the Autism Legal Foundation, and was a previous Board member for the Nassau County Mental Health Association, before being voted President.

With approximately 27,000 students enrolled at three campuses in Selden, Brentwood and Riverhead, Suffolk County Community College is the largest community college in New York State. Degrees offered include Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), and Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.), as well as professional certificates in 100 programs of study. Suffolk County Community College is governed by a ten-member board of trustees. As a trustee, Murray will also serve on the board of directors of the Suffolk Community College Association.

Murray resides in Stony Brook, New York with his family.
