Attorney E. Christopher Murray Named Chair of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek’s Environmental Practice Group

 Uniondale, Long Island, New York, August 18, 2010  – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that attorney E. Christopher (Chris) Murray has been named chair of the firm’s Environmental Practice Group. Murray has extensive experience with litigation and administrative hearings involving a variety of environmental issues including SEQRA compliance, violations of New York and Federal law concerning the disposal of hazardous waste, challenges to the denial of wetland permits and CERCLA liability.  Murray has also counseled clients on complying with environmental laws and regulations in connection with real estate transactions and the acquiring of businesses.

Murray, a resident of Stony Brook and a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, also has extensive experience in all aspects of complex commercial, environmental, employment, civil rights and trademark litigation. He has numerous federal and state appellate level decisions involving real estate disputes, breach of contract claims, employment discrimination, Article 78 proceedings and partnership dissolutions.

 Active in his profession and community, Murray is the President of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, the umbrella organization for over forty local chambers of commerce in Nassau County, representing more than 6,000 small businesses. He also serves on the board of a number of charities and not-for-profit organizations, including The Center for Developmental Disabilities, the Nassau County Mental Health Association and the Garden City Chamber Foundation. Murray is President of the Nassau Chapter of the NYCLU and serves on the New York State Board for that organization. Murray also serves on the Town of North Hempstead Board of Zoning and Appeals.
