Kremer Elected Emeritus Chair of Young People’s Chorus

Uniondale, Long Island, New York, July 19, 2012 – The Young People’s Chorus of New York City, a world-recognized youth chorus, has elected Arthur “Jerry” Kremer as Chairman Emeritus in recognition of his ten years of service in the role of chairman.

Mr. Kremer, a partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, in Uniondale, N.Y. became chair of the organization during its earliest years helping it grow from a small organization to a world-recognized choral group and an annual budget exceeding $2 million.

“I am proud of the success of the Young Peoples Chorus of New York City which has grown from its small local presence to international acclaim,” said Kremer.  “At this very moment our chorus members are in Beijing representing North Americain a large number of musical presentations. We have grown from 200 youngsters to over 1000, plus we host ten programs in the New York City public schools. I am honored to have been a part of the incredible story that has made this group a world famous organization.”

Children from all ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds participate in the chorus every year. The group, which has received recognition from around the world, includes children from the ages of seven to 18. The chorus has performed on Good Morning America, the Today Show and appeared on PBS’s From the Top at Carnegie Hall.

Kremer, a former New York State Assemblyman who served for 23 years in Albany,  was chairman of the powerful Ways and Means Committee for 12 years and held many other positions by appointment of the Governor. He is an attorney and chairman of Empire Government Strategies, a government relations firm that concentrates on economic development projects and legislative advocacy. Kremer’s commentary on politics appears in many newspapers and he has been a News 12 political analyst for the past 18 years.

Young People’s Chorus of New York City has toured four continents and won nearly a dozen gold medals at choral competitions around the world. The chorus is currently in Bejing, China where it is entertaining large groups at the invitation of the Chinese government. The group will perform at the Polyfollia world choral music showcase in Normandy, France, in November 2012.
