Ellen F. Kessler Named Chair of Nassau County Bar Association’s Hospital and Health Law Committee

Uniondale, Long Island, New York, July 17, 2007 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek announced today that partner Ellen Kessler has been named chair of the Hospital and Health Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association for a one-year term. Kessler, a partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, is a member of the firm’s Health Law Department and brings special expertise to the committee and her practice as both an experienced attorney and a registered nurse.

The Hospital and Health Law Committee explores legal issues as they relate to healthcare providers and other practitioners in the healthcare industry. It also serves as an educational arm of the Nassau County Bar Association, hosting one CLE program a year on a health care topic of interest to attorneys and health care providers.

In her health law practice, Kessler has counseled health care clients on a wide variety of legal issues, including mergers and acquisitions, establishment of professional practices and management service organizations, and professional licensure issues under state and federal law. Her health care clients have included hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health care agencies, management organizations, physicians, dentists and other health care practitioners. Prior to her career in law, Kessler had a distinguished career in Nursing and Nursing Education at St. Barnabas, Bronx Lebanon and Brooklyn Veterans Hospitals.
