Douglas M. Nadjari Selected to Vice Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Hospital & Health Committee

Uniondale, Long Island, New York, October 5, 2015 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that partner Douglas M. Nadjari, Esq. a member of the firm’s Health Law Department, has been selected to serve a two-year term, as vice chair of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Hospital & Health Committee.  The mission of the committee is to provide continuing legal education for the bar and considers legal issues impacting health care, hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, other providers and consumers.

Mr. Nadjari’s work primarily involves matters of professional discipline before the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (“OPMC”) and the Office of Professional Discipline (“OPD”). A major segment of his practice is devoted to the representation of clients in criminal and civil matters by the United States Attorney’s Offices, the N.Y.S. Attorney General, local district attorneys, and other government agencies. Additionally, Mr. Nadjari is widely recognized for aggressive representation of physicians and other health professionals in hospital medical staff proceedings, audits, claw-backs and demands for repayment made by Medicare, Medicaid and private health insurers as well as the defense of physicians and corporations in criminal, administrative and commercial disputes.

He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York State Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the New York State Medical Defense Bar Association and the Tulane University School of Law adjunct faculty where he teaches pre-trial criminal practice.  He is a member of the Energeia Partnership, and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest food bank.
