Human Resources Administrative Assistant

Premier Long Island Law Firm, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek PC, is seeking a Human Resources Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will assist with the on boarding and off boarding for new employees and benefits enrollment, employment verification, and updating and maintaining employee files.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter, with excellent administrative, client service, written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Principal Responsibilities:

Assist with the processing of all new employees, which includes, the processing of all new hire paperwork, time card approval, and answering any employee questions and training to ensure the effectiveness of employment processes.

Acts as a liaison between HR and other departments (IT, Facilities, and others) by providing information on new hires and separated employees.

Assist with the processing of all benefit enrollment changes. Handle new hire enrollments, terminations and qualifying life events.

Assist with the audit of time cards for semi-monthly payrolls.

Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all employee records.

Assists with processing of terminations/rehires.

Complete and respond to verification of employment in a timely manner via calls and email; direct verification requests when necessary.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience working in the human resources field.

Excellent communication skills and ability to develop interpersonal relationships with employees at all company levels.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws regulating employee relations practices.

Prior experience within HR.
