Kristofer Kasnicki concentrates his practice specifically in the areas of estate litigation and administration. Kris is Of Counsel in Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C.’s Trusts and Estates Department and represents individuals and entities in Surrogate’s Courts throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Kris has a broad range of estate litigation experience including matters involving contested probate proceedings, contested fiduciary accounting proceedings, proceedings for the discovery and turnover of estate of trust assets, and other proceedings involving breach of fiduciary duties, confidential relationships, and matters involving undue influence. Kris has extensive trial experience and has successfully argued numerous appeals to the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division.
Kris graduated magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo Law School, where he was a member of the Mock Trial Team and the Moot Court Board. After law school, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in in the Special Victims Bureau of the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted elder abuse criminal cases involving theft from elderly victims by bank fraud, computer trespass and identity theft. After the District Attorney’s Office and prior to join of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., Kris worked for Connors & Sullivan, PLLC, where he represented individual beneficiaries, heirs, executors and trustees with their estate litigation needs.
Kris is a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association and its Estate Litigation and Elder Law subcommittees, as well as the Nassau County Bar Association. He is also avid American History buff and the President of the Civil War Round Table of New York.
