Erin King Sweeney serves as Of Counsel at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C., and has over twenty years of legal experience focused on aviation, transportation and security matters. She served as General Counsel, USA, for Swiss International Air Lines Ltd., and handled the dual bankruptcies of Swissair and Sabena, and managed the start-up of Swiss in the United States. Erin is President of King Sweeney Strategies LLC where she advises clients on business strategy in the transportation and security fields.
Erin serves as the Executive Director of the CANA Foundation, a non-profit committed to the rewilding of horses and protection of our environment. For 5 years, Erin served as a Councilwoman in the Town of Hempstead, New York, winning election, and was selected as majority leader. Erin’s work focused on downtown development and transit-oriented growth. Erin is a member of the board of the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Long Island and is a member of the advisory council of Anna’s House, the childcare facility at Belmont racetrack. Successful in business and active in her community, Erin has received numerous awards including being selected as a “Power Woman” by the Long Island Press; an Aviation Industry Woman of the Year by the Boys Scouts of Queens; an Outstanding Achiever by the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women; and she received the Long Island Government Official Inspiration award by the Middle Market Alliance of Long Island.
As a breast cancer survivor, Erin has chaired and organized events with elected officials, doctors and health care professionals to raise awareness about the importance of early detection. Erin also ran a half-marathon to raise money and awareness about the disease. Erin graduated manga cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and is a graduate of Notre Dame Law School. Erin speaks conversational German and enjoys riding horses. Erin and her husband John have two children.
