Uniondale, Long Island, New York, December 1, 2010 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that Jay B. Silverman has been named to the New York State Special Advisory Review Panel on Medicaid Managed Care. The panel was established in 1997 to advise top elected officials on its assessment of the status of Medicaid managed care and to provide recommendations to maximize the program’s efficacy.
Silverman, a resident of Port Washington, is a partner and co-chair of the firm’s Health Law Department and chair of the Healthcare Professionals practice group. He is a former Assistant General Counsel for the Medical Society of the State of New York; in this capacity, Silverman counseled physicians on contractual and managed care issues as well as professional discipline and hospital privilege matters. Silverman presently represents health care professionals and their businesses in the implementation and execution of their personal, professional and corporate plans.
Silverman serves as on the Board of Advisors of Brownstone Publishers, providing editorial input on several of their nationally distributed health care newsletters. Silverman is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and its Health Law Section and the New York State Bar Association and its Committee on Health Law. He frequently lectures on health law issues to medical and legal organizations. He has also contributed to the prestigious Legal Manual for New York Physicians, a collaboration between the New York State Bar Association and the Medical Society of the State of New York.
