Arthur “Jerry” Kramer Elected to the Board of the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities For 2011-2012

Uniondale, Long Island, New York, December 27, 2011 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that partner, has been elected as an officer of the Council of Governing Boards (CGB) for the 2011-2012 term. The CGB is the advocacy organization of 3,000+ Independent Sector, higher education Trustees, in New York State serving the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU).  Mr. Kremer serves as Trustee of Hofstra University, located in Hempstead, NY.

The CICU is a statewide association representing the public policy interests of the chief executives of more than 100 independent colleges and universities in New York State.  Founded in 1956 by a small group of private, not-for-profit college and university presidents, the CICU now represents more than 100 independent campuses across New York State.  Its mission is to develop consensus among a diverse membership and to advance higher education public policy.

Mr. Kremer chairs the firm’s Municipal and Regulatory Affairs Department and is also a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities Department and Energy Practice Group.  Kremer is actively involved in client matters at the federal, state and local level.  He also leads the activities of Empire Government Strategies, named by New York Public Interest Group as one the fastest growing lobbying firms in New York State.

Kremer has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in government as well as law.  He is a 23-year veteran of the New York State Assembly where he was the only Long Island legislator to ever head the prestigious Ways and Means Committee.  Kremer served in that post for 12 years, and served on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Capital Review Board and the Public Authorities Control Board.  Kremer reports on the political scene, both on Long Island and throughout New York State and has served as a political analyst for News12 for over 15 years.
