Uniondale, Long Island, New York, October 5, 2009 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek announced today that partner Adam P. Silvers has been named a board member and General Counsel to The Nexus Business Group, a Long Island-based business organization whose mission is to provide its members with the resources, strategies, referrals and networking opportunities that lead to increased profitability.
Silvers, a resident of Commack, New York, is a member of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek's Corporate & Securities Department and Intellectual Property Group as well as chair of the Technology Practice Group. Over the course of his career, Adam has successfully handled a wide range of complex transactions that include mergers and acquisitions, IPO's, software licensing agreements and partnership agreements for public and private companies.
Silvers has demonstrated his business leadership through his involvement in several organizations. He co-founded the CFO Roundtable in 2003, a by-invitation-only monthly gathering of CFO's from Long Island's leading private companies. As part of his commitment to the advancement of technology, Adam is the firm liaison to LISTnet and helps plan its quarterly Business Excellence Strategies and Trends (BEST) event, which features panel discussions on topics of interest to technology professionals on Long Island. For the last five years, Silvers has been actively involved with Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) as a board member, helping to direct planning and fundraising efforts on behalf of Long Island's at-risk children.
Silvers is a member of the Corporate Law and Computer Law Committees of the Nassau County Bar Association and has lectured before the Suffolk County Bar Association as well as at seminars and programs centered on corporate and technology issues.
