Ruskin Moscou Faltischek’s Ellen F. Kessler, Panelist at Hofstra University’s CLE Program

Uniondale, Long Island, N.Y. June 8, 2015 – Ellen F. Kessler, Partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., was asked to join Hofstra University’s panel of health law attorneys at their “What Attorneys Need To Know About Health Law” CLE program.

The program was held on June 3, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the office of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek. It was offered to alumni of Hofstra’s Law School who attended in record numbers. “It was very well received and attendees applauded the speakers for keeping them captivated throughout the program,” Hofstra alum commented.

This program provided an overview of the key features of the new “Surprise Medical Bill Law” that recently went into effect in New York, the special issues that must be considered in navigating corporate transactions with health care clients and the important ethical issues and obligations for lawyers in connection with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, commonly known as “HIPAA”.

Ellen F. Kessler is a Partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltishcek, P.C., where she is a member of the firm’s Health Law Department, bringing special expertise as both an experienced attorney and a registered nurse. She attended Hofstra Law School, where she earned the J.D. degree with distinction in 1986.  She received her master’s in nursing education from Teachers college, Columbia University, and earned a B.S. in nursing at SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Nursing, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Ms. Kessler concentrates her practice on a wide variety of health law matters. She regularly counsels health care clients on mergers, acquisitions, establishment of professional practices, employment and professional service relationships, health care regulation, management service organizations and their relationships with health care providers, establishment and transfers of Article 28 and Article 36 facilities, HIPAA compliance, and regulatory and professional licensure issues under state and federal law.
