John Cooney featured on Adelphi University Exploring Critical Issues Show

Uniondale, New York, May 27, 2015 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that John J. Cooney, Esq., Of Counsel and Chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice Group, was featured on the television program Exploring Critical Issues Show: Data Breaches and Privacy on May 24, 2015.  Exploring Critical Issues is a series hosted by Dr. Robert A. Scott, President of Adelphi University, in which he leads a panel discussion by scholars, advocates and other distinguished guests to examine important local, regional, national and global topics, including the environment, health, business, the arts, politics, law and government regulations.

This program consisted of four specialized panelists.  John J. Cooney, Esq., of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, Katherine Heaviside of EPOCH 5, Professor Mark Grabowski of Adelphi University and Kevin Edwards of Flexible Systems. The program covered the timely topic of data breaches and privacy concerns and the expert panel discussed how consumers and companies can protect themselves from internal and external threats and the rapidly changing landscape of regulations and laws.

Seen by nearly ten million households, Exploring Critical Issues has earned four Telly Awards (the cable equivalent of an Emmy) and the 2013 MarCom Gold Award for the Critical Regional Public Policy Issues Campaign.  For the next two weeks, “Data Breaches and Privacy” will air in New York and Connecticut on Cablevision 29 (Long Island) and 137 (Connecticut and New York area outside of Long Island) and FiOS 296 (New York), on the airdates and times as follows:

John J. Cooney serves Of Counsel to Ruskin Moscou Faltischek where he is chair of the Firm’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice group.  Mr. Cooney is a former United States Marine Corps officer and combat veteran of the Persian Gulf War. After serving his country, he was a software engineer on Wall Street and at Fortune 500 companies.
