Honorable C. Raymond Radigan Becomes Fellow of “ACTEC”

Uniondale, New York, May 7, 2015 – Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that the Honorable C. Raymond Radigan became a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (“ACTEC”).  Judge Radigan, retired Nassau County Surrogate, serves as counsel to the Trusts & Estates Department.

The ACTEC is an organization of more than 2,600 trust and estate lawyers and law professors who have been elected by their peers in recognition of having made outstanding contributions to the practice of trust and estate law.  The college brings together top lawyers in the profession to maintain a high quality of trust and estate legal services through mutual education, to create and foster networking among those lawyers based on the highest order of trust and confidence, and to contribute to the improvement of the areas of law in which trust and estate lawyers practice.

For 20 years, Judge Radigan served as the Judge of the Nassau County Surrogate’s Court since he was first elected in 1981. Previously, he served the Nassau Surrogate’s Court as Chief Clerk and Deputy Chief Clerk, and as a law assistant to Surrogate John D. Bennett. As chair of the Advisory Committee to the Legislature on the Estates Powers and Trusts Law, and the Surrogate’s Court Procedure Act, he has been a driving force in the revision and update of trusts and estates law and practice in New York State.

Judge Radigan is a Special Professor at Hofstra Law School, an Adjunct Professor at St. John’s University School of Law, and a former Adjunct Professor at Brooklyn Law School and Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. He has lectured extensively, delivering more than 100 lectures annually to a wide variety of organizations, including the Long Island Estate Planning Council, Cornell University Law School, New York Law School, Columbia Law School, Pace Law School, and numerous other professional, business and social service organizations.
