For the Second Consecutive Year, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C. Sponsors Event Benefitting Our Local Veterans

Uniondale, New York, September 10, 2015 –  Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. announced today that they have again become the tournament sponsor of the APS Invitational Open, to be held at the magnificent “Village of Sands Point Club” here on Long Island on Monday September 28th, 2015.   All net proceeds from the APS Invitational Open are for the purpose of assisting our returning veterans and their families. Most of the proceeds will go to the Northport American Legion Post 694, a local charity that cares for Long Island veterans and their families and helps to fund programs at the Northport VA Medical Center, which treated and cared for approximately 34,000 Nassau and Suffolk County veterans and their families last year.

The golf tournament is the brainchild and passion of Daniel G. Pompa, D.D.S.  Dr. Pompa is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who retired from active practice three years ago.  Dr. Pompa is also an author, inventor and speaker for the American Dental Association.  Dr. Pompa, said, “Ruskin Moscou Faltischek’s dedication to the community is demonstrated by their continued strong support of this fundraising event.  I am so proud to work with such a distinguished law firm.”  Dr. Pompa remarked that he has an incredible volunteer golf committee and “all are diligently  working to make this an exciting day and a successful fundraising event for our veterans.”

John J. Cooney, a United States Marine Corps veteran and an attorney at the firm, is commander of the American Legion Post 694.  Mr. Cooney has coordinated programs within the American Legion Post 694 in the past to help veterans and their families across Long Island.  “It has been a pleasure working with Dr. Pompa and his team to ensure that support goes directly to those that need it most.  We are very thankful for their efforts to help lessen the burden for those that have served us,” Cooney remarked.

Adam Silvers, Managing Partner, said, “The firm is proud to sponsor such a worthy endeavor and make sure our local veterans and their families are cared for.” Mr. Silvers added, “We applaud the charitable and noble efforts of Dr. Pompa and his committee for this effort.”

Dr. Pompa explained that the golf tournament is complete with entertainment, raffles and various challenges of skill.  “Golfers even have a chance to drive away with a brand new BMW, Pompa stated.”  The day starts at 10:00 a.m. with an early luncheon and a putting and chipping contest. Shortly thereafter, the players will be a offered a “shoot-out” whereby 4 players will have a chance to take a shot from 150 yards and win $50,000 if they hole it.  Awards, dinner and entertainment will follow at 5 PM in the mansion on the course.

Players and guests will also be treated to live performances from the New York Tenors, the brilliant and talented Andy Cooney, Daniel Rodriguez, and Chris Macchio.  “We are thrilled the New York Tenors will again join us for this wonderful event.  We are so grateful for their continued support in performing and participating in the tournament,” Pompa remarked.
